Sodding

Sod is one of the best ways to establish a lush and beautiful lawn. The instant aesthetic result of thick green sod is only the beginning.  When compared to seeding, sod requires fewer resources, including your time. And sod establishes much quicker, allowing you to enjoy your lawn sooner. We use high-quality sod and adhere to proper installation techniques to ensure that your lawn gets the root system it needs for a long healthy life.  There are a several different options for sod available
to homeowners in the coastal plain/peidmont transitional area.

Hydro-seeding

A seeding process which utilizes a slurry of seed and mulch that is transported in a tank and sprayed over a prepared ground in a uniform layer.  The mulch in the hydroseed mixture helps retain moisture and insulates the seed from the sun and wind which provides optimum even germination.  The spray-slurry is green which gives you an attractive look until seed germinates.

Fescue

Fecue lawns can be fully established within 4-6 weeks of hydro-seeding following the proper water guidelines and fertilization treatments. Bermuda:Bermuda lawns take 4-6 months to fully establish.  Proper mowing, watering, & fertilizing will speed the process.  Once established you will have a low-maintenance dought tolerant lawn.

Centipede & Zoysia

Both centipede and zoysia will germinate within 10-14 days.  They will grow slowly the first year and begin filling in the second growing season

Wildflower Mixes:

Grass seed isn't the only type of seed that can be hydroseeded.  Wildflowers can be hydroseeded for a burst of color and wildlife attractant.  Wildflower seed can be selected for full sun, shade, or part shade conditions.  Wildflowers make a wonderful transition from a yard to a wooded area.  They will self-seed, creating a display for years to come. Wildflowers are typically hydroseeded in the fall or early spring.

Sprigging

A less-expensive alternative to sodding and is usually done on larger properties.  After soil is prepped sprigs are distributed and crimped to obtain good soil contact.  A stringent watering schedule will proceed to make sure the sprigs root in adaquetly. Hybrid bermudas and Zoysia varieties are the most commonly used turf-types when sprigging.

Aeration & Seeding

Exisiting Fescue Lawns: Core Aeration & overseeding your fescue lawn is a must in this growing zone.  Each year a percentage of your fescue grass dies due to heat, drought, heavy traffic, insects etc.. Keep your fescue lush by overseeding your lawn every year.  Minor renovations also may be required for poor soils or lack of any turf at all.

Slit seeding

Cost effective method of seeding using a machine that slices even rows into the soil and drops grass seed directly into those rows to improve seed-soil contact.  Thismethod is used when renovating a warm-season or Fescue lawn.
